Question Everything: An Equestrian Podcast

Horsemanship has taken me on an evolving journey.

Like many riders, I began with traditional training methods. Over time I explored natural horsemanship, searching for approaches that emphasized partnership and understanding. Eventually that path led me deeper into the study of applied learning theory and equine behavior, where scientific research began to shape how I understand horses and training today.

That process of learning revealed something important: horsemanship is an evolving field. Ideas, traditions, and techniques change as we gather better information and listen more carefully to what the horse is telling us. For me, the most meaningful progress came from leaning into evidence, observation, and measurable data, and asking how we can develop methods that are informed directly by the horse’s behavior and responses.

Through Horsemanship Unlocked, I share practical training demonstrations and educational video series that explore both the theory and practice of horsemanship. But beyond the arena, I’ve also found myself in many conversations with thoughtful horse people, the kind where we spend hours discussing the traditions, assumptions, and questions that shape the horse world.

This podcast grew out of those conversations.

Science encourages us to stay curious and to question what we think we know, and the horse industry is no exception. Because horses cannot advocate for themselves, it becomes even more important for us to remain open, reflective, and willing to examine the systems we participate in.

Question Everything is a space for thoughtful exploration where we look at horsemanship, training culture, and equine welfare through curiosity rather than certainty. We’ll explore research, history, philosophy, and the everyday realities of working with horses, always asking what we can learn and how we can continue improving.

Meaningful change often begins with small things: noticing, asking questions, and having honest conversations.
